Twin Peaks set a benchmark for strange and gripping television when it first debuted in 1990, and if you’re looking to bring home the surreal mystery series, then now is a great time to grab the entire collection at a steeply discounted price. Normally $77, Twin Peaks: The Television Collection has been marked down to just $43 at Amazon.
That’s a 44% discount on a box set that gets you all 29 episodes of the original run and all 18 parts of the “Limited Event” series from the 2017 revival. Additionally, there’s a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes extras here from which to sit back and see just how the series was put together. If you already own the original series, you can pick up the Limited Event Series edition of Twin Peaks on Blu-ray, which has been discounted from $40 to $26.
Co-created and entirely directed by Hollywood legend David Lynch–the same David Lynch who clues you in on the days of the week–Twin Peaks is a mystery show that blends detective work with supernatural elements and tops it off with some uncanny toppings. In typical Lynch fashion, the show is also downright weird, open to interpretation, and has a cinematic flair to its design. The original show lasted for two seasons before it was abruptly canceled and was followed by a prequel movie in 1992.
Over the years, Twin Peaks earned a devoted following and its influence was felt in shows like Broadchurch and games like Alan Wake. It took a few decades for Twin Peaks to be resurrected, but with Lynch once again directing and much of the original cast returning, it was a hit revival.
